Holy Week 2017

Holy Week 2017

On Palm Sunday (April 9th) we will gather for a delicious breakfast (with pancakes!) at 8:30am in the Gallery. Following breakfast at 9am, there will be opportunities for all ages for faith formation and curious conversation throughout the building. Worship at 10am will be intergenerational, with music from our Chancel Choir and handbells.

As we leave worship, we invite you to take your palm as we process out of the sanctuary and share in a Walk/Run 1k/5k to support Disciples Home Missions. DHM is a part of the larger Disciples’ network that offers support for environmental ministries, immigrants and refugees, and all ages in our churches! Donations for DHM are suggested to honor their work following the ways of Jesus. Visithttps://www.discipleshomemissions.org/ to learn more. The walk and run will end at Phelps Grove Park. Pack a lunch and come help us find Easter Eggs!

This year, we have chosen to serve others on Maundy Thursday (April 13th) by providing food and socks for folks in our community who often go without. There are several times and locations you may choose from; view the info and sign up with the link at the bottom of this post. If you are not available to go out and serve food, consider preparing the food ahead of time, donating funds for the preparation of this food, or giving the gift of new warm socks. Jesus washed the feet of his Disciples, which was one way he showed compassion. We would like to care for the feet most in need in our community by offering new pairs of socks for their journey.
Please use the link below to sign up for the donations you would like to provide, and/or the places you would like to help serve. Call the church office with any questions!
